Pet photography FAQs, Maple Ridge and Vancouver

How much does pet photography cost in Maple Ridge? One outdoor session is $400. Here is everything else that's good to know: booking, leashes, weather and locations.

How much does pet photography cost?

One session is $400: up to 2 locations, 5 edited digital photos (more available to purchase) and no time limit.

What package do you currently offer?

We offer a single outdoor photography session. It includes 5 edited digital photos and the option to purchase additional photos.

My dog isn't well-trained or doesn't know any tricks. Can we still get good portraits?

Absolutely! Our goal is to capture your pup's personality just as they are. No tricks or perfect training required. We'll guide you through the session and use plenty of treats, toys, and patience to make sure your dog is having fun. A happy pup means authentic, beautiful photos that truly reflect who they are.

Can we still have an outdoor shoot if I'm not comfortable letting my dog off-leash?

Absolutely! In fact, for safety, we prefer that pets are leashed, ideally on a long one for more freedom (we do provide one on the shoot if needed). Don't worry about the leash showing in your photos; it will be edited out during post-processing, leaving you with natural, beautiful portraits.

What does the booking process look like?

Fill out the booking request form on the website. You'll receive an email or a call from us within 24 to 48 hours to answer any questions and get you scheduled for the pre-session consultation. Confirm the consultation by paying the consultation fee (non-refundable) via email instructions. Have the consultation call to finalize the session date and details. Pay the session fee (due 3 days before the shoot). Then it's session time, let the fun begin! You get a proofing gallery to pick your favorite photos to be edited (with an option to purchase more), and we deliver the high quality edited photos through an online gallery.

What does the pre-session consultation include?

The consultation is a 30 minute video or phone call (your choice). We'll get to know your pet and discuss your vision for the shoot, explore location options, go over outfit ideas if you plan to be in the photos, answer any questions you have and finalize the session date.

How do we decide the location for the shoot?

During the pre-session consultation, we'll discuss your ideas and the vibe you're going for. Based on this discussion we'll provide location suggestions, but if you have a special place in mind, we'd love to explore that option with you.

What if the weather isn't suitable for an outdoor shoot?

We know BC's weather can be unpredictable, so we'll keep an eye on it leading up to the morning of the session. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll work together to reschedule to the next available date that works for you.

Can I be part of the photos?

Absolutely! The bond you share with your pet is priceless, and including you in the photos makes them even more special. Don't worry about posing. We'll guide you every step of the way.

Can I purchase additional photos?

Absolutely! You can purchase additional photos beyond the 5 included in your session.

Is it possible to reschedule a booking?

Life happens, and you may need to reschedule. Just let us know at least 3 days before the session, and we'll find the next best available date for you.

Is it possible to cancel a booking?

If you need to cancel before the pre-session consultation, we're happy to offer a full refund. After the consultation, a 50% consultation fee will apply as it helps cover the time and effort we've put in to prepare for your session. Thanks for understanding!

How do two locations work for a single session?

The goal is to give you as much variety as possible in your photos. Often, a single location provides enough variation in backgrounds and landscapes for a session. However, if needed, we can include up to two locations as long as they're within a 15 minute drive of each other. We'll complete all photos at the first location before moving to the second. Any questions about this can be discussed during your pre-session consultation.

How long does a single session take?

Every pet is unique and may need time to settle into the environment. That's why we don't set a strict time limit for our sessions. On average, a single session takes about an hour to an hour and a half to complete.

Still wondering about something?
